Bio:

Hi, I'm Staci. I am a Vermont native who moved to Charlotte, NC in 2014 and currently reside in Statesville, NC. I am a mother, partner, doula, educator, advocate, and ally and am truly honored to be supporting clients in North Carolina.

The birth of my oldest child in 2010 inspired me to follow my calling of birth work and in 2011, I began my journey as a doula with DONA. After the birth of my two younger children in 2015 and 2016, I began to actively support clients in their desired birth space. I am a strong believer in birthers, babies, and the inherent wisdom and instinctual capabilities within all of you to give birth in the way that suits you best. This means that no matter how you decide to give birth, I will be by your side, supporting you through your journey. I will hear you, respect you, and support you, 110%. Throughout my journey supporting clients of all cultures, beliefs, races, religions, and more, I can say that I have grown as a person and as a birth worker. The birth of your child is an experience you will never forget and in understanding this, am so honored to be invited into your space. I will never replace your partner, but rather help them support you. Your partner brings love and history with them and I bring skills and experience. Together, we create a beautiful support system for you. I am so excited to meet you.

Short bio:

Hello! My name is Tashona. I was born in sunny Florida and raised in the wonderful state of North Carolina. As a 10 year military spouse I've moved many, many times and am thrilled to have landed back at home in North Carolina. My family includes my husband of over 20 wonderful years and our four amazing children. We live right outside of Charlotte in Midland, NC and love being out of the busy-ness of the city but close enough to the city to do the cool stuff. Outside of work I enjoy creating lifelong family memories, attempting all types of DIY crafts and projects (and sometimes actually completing them), fine tuning my green thumb, and learning from and sharing with women from every generation across all walks of life.

My heart for serving women gave birth to Viumbe Birth and Wellness, LLC. I believe strongly that I was created to help, serve, and care for others so that they can fully do what they were created to do. After becoming a licensed massage therapist in 2013 and specializing in women's wellness, my passion for the prenatal period led me down the path of becoming certified in Fertility Massage (for both partners), Prenatal, Labor, and Postpartum Massage, and Infant Massage instruction. These massage certifications are what introduced me to birth work and now I can't imagine doing anything else. I took my first doula training with DONA International in 2014 and a second with The Birth Well in 2016. In an effort to support as many growing families as I can I've added childbirth education, placenta encapsulation and a handful of other offerings to the services I provide. I enjoy building relationships with not only my clients but also other professionals and am happy to connect the two when needed.

Enough about me, I want to hear about you. Pregnancy is such a special time and birth is such a special event in your life, your baby's life, and your family's life. The way you experience it will create a ripple effect in your life. I would be honored to support you through it and help you create a positive ripple... whether you're planning a home, birth center, or hospital birth it should be a birth you recall with all the good feels for years and years. So, what excites you? What concerns you? I hope to hear from you so that we can discuss how I can best support you.

Short bio:

Rebecca Duerr is a Integrative Nutritionist, Certified Doula and Placenta Specialist, and loving wife and mother to her four daughters in Mooresville, NC. Rebecca specializes in working with women who would like to naturally improve their health, increase their fertility, have a positive natural pregnancy and birth experience and have a happy and relaxing postpartum period to enjoy their new baby. She gives women the support they need to have the personal life, pregnancy experience, and family life that they have always wanted and deserve.

Rebecca’s passion for helping women reach their health goals developed from her own experiences with pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.  Her oldest daughter was born at home after a healthy pregnancy and her twin daughters were born naturally at a maternity center after another healthy pregnancy. She was able to use therapeutic foods as well as get the support she needed to have the pregnancies and births that she always imagined having. There is a lack of support for women who want to reach and maintain their optimal health before, during and after their pregnancy. Rebecca is that support. Her experiences, education and passion to help women during a time that can feel stressful, lonely and full of guessing games can lead to a more calm, fulfilling and satisfying motherhood.

Rebecca has a Master's of Science in Nutrition and Integrative Health, from the Maryland University of Integrative Health (MS).  She is currently accumulating the required clinical hours to obtain her North Carolina Dietetics/Nutrition License (LDN), as well as her Certificate of Nutrition Specialist (CNS). She is also a CAPPA certified labor doula (CLD) and APPA Certified Placenta Specialist.

Bio: Hi, my name is Nicole Hunter and my love for everything birth and babies began at an early age and has been growing ever since. It was intensified after the birth of my oldest son did not go as planned, resulting in an induction and cesarean section. My second birth was followed by a very rocky postpartum period that wasn’t realized until years later. I have always been passionate about helping people, but after having children that passion became focused on mothers and families.

I unofficially “doula-ed” for 9 years before becoming a trained and certified birth, postpartum, and newborn doula. After my initial training, I yearned for so much more knowledge and trained as Hypnobabies® Hypno-Doula, certified placenta encapsulation specialist, certified in CPR and First Aid, and I continue to train in other childbirth related areas. I enjoy spending time with family and friends, reading, and traveling in my spare time. I am excited and honored to provide unforgettable experiences to women and their families.

I support individuals and families in hospitals, birth centers, and private homes in medicated, unmedicated, VBAC, cesarean, and high risk births. I also provide prenatal support including birth preparation, comfort measures for labor, formulating a birth plan, newborn care, hospital bag advisement, breastfeeding information, nursery/home staging, baby registry assistance, and more.
