Short bio: I've always had a passion for childbirth but it wasn't until delivering my son in 2016 that I decided to pursue it as a career. My goal as a doula is to provide women with a birthing experience of their own design. I seek a holistic approach, recognizing that maternity care goes well beyond the womb and extends towards educational, emotional, physical, and spiritual support. I don't want to simply check in on my clients occasionally, but rather, I will be praying for them often, as well as sending along any resources I believe may be beneficial. I also offer birth photography and will gladly manage both the roles of doula and photographer at my clients' births.
I'm a mama of just one child right now, but my husband and I hope we'll be blessed with lots of kiddos in the future. We transferred to Charlotte 7 years ago from Ohio, worked together in education for 5 years, and would love to call the Carolinas home for the rest of our lives.
I believe every person on this Earth is given a divine story, crafted especially for them by God. That is why I love birth so much-- you get to watch the beginning of an eternal story that was written before the world began. There's nothing more amazing! It would be an honor to journey alongside you as your child's story combines with yours in real life.

Short bio: My name is Sabrina Lewis, I am a married mother of four and live in Harrisburg, NC. I became a doula because I have been through several difficult situations in childbirth: Pre-term labor with four separate pregnancies, C-Sections, VBACs, and delivered two babies that have passed away in my second trimester. Through my experiences, I wished that I had someone with me who could answer questions and bring me more emotional and physical comfort. When I learned what a doula was, I instantly wanted to become one. I have a passion for assisting women in having the best experience possible through an empowering and hard situation. I am a certified birth doula through the International Doula Institute and have been attending births in the Charlotte area for over four years. I witnessed my first birth thirteen years ago and have never looked back.
I am a firm believer that the mother, her support persons, medical staff, and doula are a team. It is the doula’s job to provide emotional support to the mother, her partner (if she has one), and support persons, help with the physical comfort throughout the labor, while also having a working knowledge of the birth process and common practices. She uses her knowledge and experience to help the mother have a positive outlook on the process and have confidence in themselves and what they are capable of. It is also their responsibility to work in a positive manner with the medical staff, (doctor’s, midwives, and nurses) so that all have the best possible attitude and outlook for the delivery. I am knowledgeable in several birth methods including: Bradley method, HypnoBirthing and Kopa Birth. I have experience as a doula with birth centers, hospital deliveries, home births (attended by midwives), natural births, epidurals, VBACs, multiples, preterm birth, c-sections, and stillborn delivery.

Hello! I'm Nicole. I was born in Virginia to a military family, but spent most of my childhood in RI. My husband, Aaron, and moved to Charlotte last year with our two beautiful and spunky girls, Madeline and Nora. I'm an extroverted introvert who loves traveling, tacos, all things french (it was my minor in college), and horrible 70s and 80s soft rock. :)
I started my photography journey in 2012, the way many photographers do -- inspired by the birth of my own child. My first birth didn't go as planned and ended in a c-section. My second birth, though, was a beautiful VBAC and everything I had hoped my first birth would have been. Afterwards I wished I had photographs to remember all of the feelings from that day--the strength, determination, relief, and overwhelming and profound love and joy. I became a birth photographer because I wanted to give other moms the gift of being able to always remember their own birth journey. You only get once chance to document the moment you meet your baby!

Short Bio: No matter what path I was on in life, I was always drawn to doing something that was good for my soul. I switched my focus in college from Veterinarian Medicine to something that made me happier: art. After completing my Associate's Degree in fine art with a focus in photography, I continued my education which a Bachelor's in Art History. In 2012, I was applying for Master's programs in Museum Studies when I met my husband. We instantly knew that what we had was a good thing and got married a year later. With my husband being in the Air Force, a career in museum work wasn't the most feasible so I focused on my photography hobby and decided to dive into it full time.
After a very active first year I decided to redirect and specialize in newborn portraiture. I continued my education specifically in newborn safety, kinesiology, and how to apply them to my work. Adding birth photography as one of my services was one of the best decisions I have made so far as I get to experience so many raw, emotional, and truly beautiful moments. I would love to chat and see what wonderful things I could capture for you.
